The Prophets Are Alive in Their Graves And Al-Albani's Recanting His Opinion!

Basmala

The following scan is taken from the book “Taraj’u Al-‘Allamah Al-Albani fimaa Nass ‘Alayhi tas-hihan wa tad-‘ifan” authored by Abul Hasan Hasan Ash-Shaykh. It is a collection of contradictory verdicts found throughout the works of Al-Albani, but specifically his recantantions on his verdicts. In this scan we see that originally Al-Albani believed that the hadith, “The Prophets are alive in their graves, praying” was da’if (weak) because ibn Qutaybah was the only one to have reported this narration. Later on, he says, after looking in to further works of hadith he just happened to realize that the chain was in fact “strong” and thus authentic. So, he says, if you find in any of works that he weakened this hadith, take hold upon his verdict of authentication with your “molars”!

How many times have we heard the wahhabis/pseudo-salafis quote Al-Albani’s spurious opinion that this hadith was da’if, yet many years later we see his recantation! If only Al-Albani (May Allah forgive him and grant him mercy) would have followed his predecessors in accepting this hadith, he would have been saved from such a blunder and misguiding the masses into believing that it was weak! This recantation proves two things:

1)    Al-Albani was not qualified to release verdicts on hadith, as he self-admittedly did not know of all of its chains, and how many masters of hadith had narrated it.

2)    No one should rely upon the verdicts of Al-Albani as they often contradict the verdicts of the salaf-us-salih (radiya Allahu ‘Anhum) and Imams of Ahlus Sunnah!

So Beware of this pseudo-salafi fitnah that has plagued the Ummah and see for yourself the dangers of following a non-traditionalist!

Imam As-Suyuti comments upon this hadith: “The life of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and give him peace, in his grave, and [also] that of the rest of the prophets is known to us as definitive knowledge (`ilman qat`iyyan).”

This is a fact denied by many in the pseudo-salafi movement, and this authentic hadith refutes their ridiculous denial of the truth!

Ibn Al-Mullaqin in his “Badr Al-Munir” [5/285] states after reporting the chain of of Abu Ya’ala that Imam Al-Bayhaqi said:

هَذَا إِسْنَاد صَحِيح

This chain is Sahih!

Then Ibn Al-Mullaqn stated, “And it is as he stated, and that is because all of its men are trustworthy!”

The following has been added on Aug. 26 2009 as a type of further clarification of the matter at hand:

A brother by the name of “yasir” posted the following comment on Aug. 24th 2009:

“Sheikh Al Albani made it clear why he made such a mistake and that is because he followed Al Bayhaqi’s statement. So your criticism should equally go to Imam Al Bayhaqi.”

[highlights from us]

In response to this we made two arguments:

1) Imam Al-Bayhaqi did not declare this hadith da’if (weak) as was implied by Al-Albani.

2) Muhammad Al-Albani overstepped his bounds and reach by claiming what the scholars of the past did not claim about this hadith!

As for the first claim that Imam Al-Bayhaqi DID NOT weaken this hadith then we said:

a) Imam Al-Bayhaqi actually stated in his treatise حياة الأنبياء في قبورهم that ‘this is one of the singularly narrated reports of Hasan ibn Al-Qutaybah Al-Mada’ini’.

He did not label this hadith weak but said that it is from the afraad of Al-Hasan ibn Al-Qutaybah. This term “afraad” or singularly reported narrations has been used on multiple occassions by the Imams of Hadith not to mean weak, but that he was the only one to narrate such from his Shaykh.

The following were the examples we gave in the response:

:أنه ذكر حديث « حديث أنس قال : والله إن كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ليرينا مصارع القوم قبل أن يقتلوا.» الحديث …. ثم قال : « تفرد به سليمان بن المغيرة عن أنس عنه،وهو صحيح، أخرجه مسلم عن
عمر بن إبراهيم بن سليط وشيبان بن فَرُّوخ عن سليمان » راجع أطراف الغرائب [1/47/الطبعة التدمرية]

another:

another:

Here are other examples:

Ad-Daraqutni states after the hadith

“Every good deed is charity”

“It is singularly narrated from ‘Ali ibn ‘Ayyash from Muhammad”

Yet the hadith is in Sahih Al-Bukhari, as was known by Ad-Daraqutni! So where is such weakening by these words?

What further lends support to this non-weakening of Imam Al-Bayhaqi is that Hafith Ibn Hajr as well as Hafith Ibn Mullaqn narrate in fat-hul baari and Badr Al-Munir respectively that Al-Bayhaqi declared this narrative Sahih!

Al-Hafith ibn Hajr Al-’Asqalani does the exact same when he says:

[6/487 of the fath]

key words:

“Declared Sahih by Al-Bayhaqi!”

There were other masters of hadith who declared this Sahih as well. Hafith Al-Munawi in his Fayd [3/184], Imam Az-Zarqani in his Sharh of the Muwatta’ both declared this narration Sahih.  Hafith Al-Haythami in his Majma’ stated,

“Reported by Abu Ya’la and Al-Bazzar and the men of Abu Ya’ala are impeccably trustworthy (thiqaat)!”

So we can see from all of this Al-Albani’s commenting upon an issue that was far greater than his knowledge. When one does not know they should remain silent, yet Al-Albani contradicted the ‘Ulama’ of old in his rulings and certainly did not have the authority to do so!

And Allah is our source of Truth!

  1. Yasir says:

Sheikh Al Albani made it clear why he made such a mistake and that is because he followed Al Bayhaqi’s statement. So your criticism should equally go to Imam Al Bayhaqi.

How about the tons of weak hadith found Imam Al Ghazali’s Ihyaa’? How about the several mistakes that Al Hakim made in his Mustadrak? Do you equally shun these scholars?

I think your just nit picking on Sheikh Al Albani’s mistakes. He had the academic honesty and courage to admit his mistakes, so he should be praised for that. Your just picking on him because he is a Salafi and I don’t think your being fair. Just as Salafis are honest enough to admit the scholarship of Asharis in certain areas, you have to be open minded enough to do the same.

Secondly, declaring the isnaad of this hadeeth to be weak did not result in any problems for the masses. Salafis believe that the Prophets are alive in their graves in a ‘barzakh’ sense and they believe in that due to other narrations. Hence, no damage has been done, since this hadeeth is not the only one that speaks about the life of the Prophets. And even if it was… then why are you complaining? Don’t you as an Ashari believe that you can’t take ahaad narrations such as this to prove Aqeedah beliefs?

Your’e not being fair in your criticism here.

You will probably reply back and complain that Shaykh Al Albani had many other problems……. well fine they are debatable, but the point is that THIS SPECIFIC ARGUMENT OF YOURS TO COME AND CONVINCE US TO DISCARD ALL OF ALBANI’S HARD WORK IS UNCALLED FOR AND UNFAIR.

And if you do reply back mentioning Hassan Saqqaf’s “Tanaqudaat” of Al Albaani then please note that Saqqaf has already been refuted, so unless your planning to present counter counter rebuttals to Saqqaf’s arguments, don’t bother mentioning him.

    Salam,

    Yasir

  2. Abul Layth says:

    Bismillah…

Thank you Allah for giving us the ability to learn your deen and by your aid and will, live by it!

    Wa’alaykum Salam Yasir,

Unfortunately you are mistaken in your belief, as inferred by Muhammad Albani (may Allah have mercy upon him), that Imam Al-Bayhaqi “weakened” this narration.

In fact, Imam al-Bayhaqi in his treatise

did not state that this hadith was weak but stated, ‘this is one of the singularly narrated reports of Hasan ibn Al-Qutaybah Al-Mada’ini’…

[Note: stating a narration is from the afraad is not be default weakening a hadith and in the end of this response we have produced a few examples from the scholars showing such.]

If only Muhammad Al-Albani would have read the very next line he would have seen Imam Al-Bayhaqi state:

هذا يعد في أفراد الحسن بن قتيبة المدائني وقد روي عن يحيى بن أبي بكير عن المستلم بن سعيد عن الحجاج عن ثابت عن أنس بن مالك

…and it is [also] reported from Yahyah ibn Abi Bkayr from Mustalim ibn Sa’id from Al-Hajjaj from Thabit from Anas ibn Malik…

Thus replacing this claim to singular narration of Al-Hasan ibn Al-Qutaybah!

But wait… let us see what else Imam Al-Bayhaqi adds beneath this narration:

So after narrating this supporting chain from Yahya, removing the very “fault” that Al-Albani claimed was the weakening factor for many years – somehow trying to force the ruling of ‘weak’ upon Imam Al-Bayhaqi, a verdict never made of Imam Al-Bayhaqi, Imam Al-Bayhaqi continues to add to this a “Mawquf report from Anas ibn Malik” …

    Supporting all of this!

You can read the many reports from Imam Al-Bayhaqi in his work Hayat Al-Anbiyaa here:

    http://www.seekingilm.com/responses/hayatanbiya.htm

So did Imam Al-Bayhaqi even state this hadith is weak? He certainly did not in the treatise quoted above, nor did he elswhere! In fact, may Allah have mercy upon you, oh reader, Imam Al-Bayhaqi declared this narration SAHIH!

But wait! Ibn al-Mullaqn is not the only Hafith to report this tas-hih (authentication) from Imam Al-Bayhaqi! Al-Hafith ibn Hajr Al-’Asqalani does the exact same when he says:

    [6/487 of the fath]

    key words:

    “Declared Sahih by Al-Bayhaqi!”

On another note, it is interesting that you believe that because an Imam says that a narration is from the Afraad (the singularly narrated reports), that such a statement is absolute tad’if. This is a mistake. To prove my point here are some examples presented by a researcher from the website majles:

أنه ذكر حديث « حديث أنس قال : والله إن كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ليرينا مصارع القوم قبل أن يقتلوا.» الحديث ….

    In the end it boils down to two things;

    1) Who is al-albani to think his judgement is superior to the Imams of the past?

    Al-Bayhaqi declared the hadith Sahih, Ibn Al-Mullaqn as well, Hafith Al-Munawi in his Fayd [3/184], Imam Az-Zarqani in his Sharh of the Muwatta’ did as well, or what of Hafith Al-Haythami in his Majma’ where he stated about this hadith;

“Reported by Abu Ya’la and Al-Bazzar and the men of Abu Ya’ala are impeccably trustworthy (thiqaat)!”

    2) This shows Muhammad Al-Albani’s (may Allah have mercy upon him) immense lack of knowledge in the sciences of hadith as we stated before.

If I – Abul Layth, a nobody novice in ‘ulum al-hadith, sitting behind a computer in the USA who has maybe 500 books in his library and has maybe a few spare hours to run Seekingilm.com, can determine that the majority of the Imams deemed this hadith authentic and the reasons for doing so, then how is it possible that Al-Albani, a supposed HAFITH in hadith – a man whom the pseudo-salafi Dawud Adib called “one of the four great Imams of our era” – could not even see the multiple chains in primary books of hadith as well as the verdicts upon them in the works of the Muhaddithin!?

This result coming from a man who is supposedly labeled by many as a “reviver”, or who thinks he has the authority to perform multiple takhreej and tahqiq of canonical works of Islam!

Lastly, may allah bless you and guide you aright brother Yasir and others in your boat, do not think you can fool an ex-pseudo salafi into believing that most pseudo-salafis believe that the Prophets are ALIVE! How many of time have I personally, as well as the thousands of others who can attest to this (especially on paltalk), had to argue with foolish pseudo-salafis that the Nabi is alive in his grave while they are telling me “well Abu Bakr said the Prophet ‘alayhis salam was dead and so whomever worshipped him etc etc…”

So do not, brother, act like we do not know what pseudo-salafis believe! We debate them, refute them, and when we show them Al-Albani’s recanting they flee into the pits that they came from!

So you boastfully, may Allah grant you and I humility, assert that you think I will quote Hassan As-Saqqaf – which I needn’t nor will I – claiming that he has been “refuted”…

I say to you that this Ummah does not need Hassan Saqqaf to purge the books of Al-Albani from heretical innovations and enormous blunders. Layman Muslims who can read arabic need only to open their eyes and read Al-Albani’s works to see his bobbles! Let them pick up some basic works of hadith literature to see the blunders, flaws, contradictions etc. of Al-Albani with their own eyes.

Unfortunately, this Ummah will be plagued with Al-Albani’s horrid re-prints of the canonical works wherein he contradicted himself, or the Imams of Islam, for some time to come. No worries though! A new generation of Sunnis are being born, and now the traditionalist movement and love for the science of hadith has been rekindled in the hearts of the Sunni youth. It is only a matter of time before huffath are born who will remove this plague from the Ummah insha’allah! Some are doing such now, and more will come by Allah’s grace and might!

Oh Allah remove the “salafi” plague and fitnah from this noble Ummah, spread your word through the pens and words of our forefather Imams whom are all free of the lies of the pseudo-salafis! Uplift your deen as you did with Muhammad Faatih, Salahud-Din Al-Ayyubi, and Harun Ar-Rashid! Save us from the lying deceit of the salafi cult and protect our children from their bida’ah and fasaad, send your abundant blessing on our beloved Sayyid Muhammad his family, his companions and followers Amin!

I would not be suprised if it was not Yasir Qadhi, keep in mind that the Psuedo-Salafi are loosing numbers every where! Allot more Muslims are coming back to traditional Islam the Islam of Ahl Sunnah Wal Jammah mash’Allah!

The arguments of the anti hadeeth, the qadiani, the shi’a the psuedo salafi they are all on the wane! Take note!

  6. Abu Adam says:

    Salaam Aleikoem,

I thought this was a seeking ilm weblog, In contrary it is a childish arque site. It doesn’t have nothing benefitial in this article. Strange that you pick one hadith and try to bash the Muhadith al Asr Albani. Its bad he doesnt live anymore to refute you. Any ways I hope the best for you.

One advise to you and remember that.

All the people can be refuted aceept the word of Allah and the prophet. So be aware that everything you say will be for you or against you. So its better to count your words, before your words are being cont for you.

May Allah guid you and me to the truth and dont arque about minor things.
The Selaf belief that the prophets are al lif, but not in the sense of a worldy life. So infact they are dead, but a life.not in worldly sense of way. and its better for us not to go deep in details, what we all no nothing about. Muhadith Sheich albani is rightfully a great Muhadith, may Allah have mercy on him.
    Aleikoem Salaam

    • Rafael says:

Wa `alaykum as salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

If I may be so bold as to spare my dear brother, Sidi ‘Bu Layth, the trouble of reponding, I am not altogether certain that it is coherent to say “Everyone has his statements accepted or rejected except the prophets (on whom be peace)” (a statement I believe to be of Malik’s) — only then to say “But don’t criticise Shaykh So-and-so!”.

Now it seems to this poor servant that there are two contentions worthy of scepticism: one, is that Shaykh Albani is an authorised muhadith. Well! It takes more than a classroom to make a professor! And as another delightfully whimsical expression goes: “You can put kittens in the oven but that doesn’t make them biscuits!” If you want to prove that Shaykh Albani is a qualified muhadith, authorised by a living master of the discipline with whom he studied face to face and took from, I’d love to see it. Until then the bare facts stand that despite his academic titles, publications, and Salafi street cred’, I have yet to see anything to disabuse me of the notion that he was anything but an autodidact whose lack of traditional tutelage manifested in those methodological coherences and elementary-level mistakes that our scholars have pointed out. I’d be delighted should you convince me otherwise (particularly in light of the fair-minded article about him authored by Sh. Nuh on masud).

The second contention is that you declare the prophets are dead but alive in a non-worldly way and then dictate that we avoid details we do not know about. I think the phrase is “`ajib“. So, we cannot rethink the scholarship of a man who went against centuries of Sunni consensus, particularly since we obviously do not know all the details as you so opine after giving your own verdict on the subject. La hawla wa la quwatta ila bil Lah. There’s a phrase in English called a “Parthian shot” should you want to upgrade your command of English. I also recommend a course or two such as this one: click.

Now you also said that this site lacks intellect (hence I’m not toning down my level of English), and considering the lack of Maliki material, that might be true. You also claim it lacks benefit, a defect hardly mitigated by whining. And also thats it’s sad Albani is not here to refute us — I’d say it’s sad that none of us are here for long and yet busy ourselves with rubbish day and night — and that we pick one hadith and try to discredit Albani by it. Sidi, we’re students (hence seeking ilm and not teaching ilm), and we have neither the time, nor the patience, nor all the resources offhand to refute every contention in Albani’s scholarship (but there must over fifty publications by Sunni scholars that do just that, so why bother?). Anyway all of that is far, far away from the point:

We’re not bashing Albani, we’re defending the TRUTH and the SUNNAH and the RELIGION itself.

Feel free to write again when you’ve learned to accept priorities such as Islam being more important than what you think about someone.

Sincerely wishing you the best in this life and the next. Keep me in yur prayers, Sidi.

      Wasalam.

I’m not saying that it is Yasir Qadhi, but judging by the email address it does seem likely to be written by someone named Yasir who was born in the same year.

  8. Abul Layth says:

Abu Adam, Al Albani – ghafar Allahu Lahu – has nothing to defend! The man recanted his verdict of many years later in his life. He would agree with all of the conclusions forwarded in this article – as he later declared the narration authentic.

We have also brought other ahadith in which Al-Albani contradicted himself:

    http://seekingilm.com/archives/376

and you can refer to the many works written that have justifiably discredited his worthless commentaries etc.

    was-Salam,
    Abul Layth

  9. Abu Adam says:

    Salaam aleikoem wr wb,

Thanks for correcting me and saying that is a saying Of Imam MAlik.
Islam is more important for me than people, but when you go and pick on the reliabity of ulema, than your not choosing for Islam.

So you chose than to bash a person that dedicated his whole life in the science of hadith. So you are not educating or clearing a misconception or a mistake of this person. And forgive me for my English. Everyone has his mistakes, so I have mistakes with English. So What? You can understand what I try to say and I can understand what you are trying to say.
There are enough writings that have justifiable discredited his arguments, Yes. Why you using the word Worthless subjectivity keep that to yourself dear brother. Keep up your good Morals.

  10. Abul Layth says:

    Wa’alaykum Salam wr wb,

Brother, his commentaries are “worthless” because their effect is of no worth except that it has harmed this Ummah. I suppose you could argue that it benefited this Ummah in that the Sunnis had to refute his non-sense which in effect brought about a revival for the love of the science of hadith amongst the Sunni students and scholars!

Al-Albani, may Allah have mercy upon him and us, will be openly refuted for generations to come, as he openly challenged the Sunni orthodoxy for years! Eventually the day will come when his worthless books will no longer be in print because the Muslims have realized his blunders, and ‘Ulama’ of Ahlus Sunnah will come forth with blessed and purified commentaries and marginalia that are worthy of being discussed!

What shows my thesis to be true is that a lowly layman researcher, a student for that fact, was able to show the absurdity of his weakening of this very narration – of which the ‘Ulama’ declared authentic for over a thousand years!

So much to your dismay, and to the dismay of those like you, we will continue manifesting his mistakes in hadith, and we will continue to show that the ‘Ulama’ of old were far superior to this Khalafi Imam, and it is they who have more right of being followed!

    was-Salam,
    Abul Layth

  11. abdallah says:

Is it true that Albani was refuted by many Salafis themselves?

    • Rafael says:

      Isn’t the term “refudiated”?

    • admin says:

      Salamu ‘alaykum br. Abdallah,

The problem with your question is many fold. The first is what is a “salafi”. Yes we all know its literal meaning, but what of its practical meaning. Many sects call themselves “salafis”. Amongst the pseudo-salafis are the qutubites, the sahwites, the najdites, the jordanian leaning pseudo-salafis, the ahlul hadis of the subcontinent of Asia, the madkhalites, and the list goes on and on.

Many have taken Al-Albani to task for different things. The Najdi pseudo-salafis blame al-albaani for problems in his ‘aqeedah. The qutubite pseudo-salafis claim he was in cahoots with evil governments and some do not refrain from takfir of him. I have even read with my own eyes some students of Al-Albani refuting their own shaykh in his gradings of hadith!

Such does not matter though, as Al-albani will go down in history as defecating upon the works of hadith by the huffaath! His lies, blunders, his deception, all of it is evil and all of it has been refuted by the Sunnis.

  12. Hamza says:

Assalâmu 3alaykum dear brothers in Islam!

May Allah grant you success! I thank you for your job and I really find this site interesting.
Alhamdulillah, we are all sunnis and we follow all the same path, the Prophet’s path, that is to say: we believe in Allah and His Prophets and we do not insult Assahaba arrâchidun or any other Companion ; and this, all my brothers, is a faddl and ni3ma from The Almighty that all of us share whatever our “leanings “. May Allah help and assist our 3ulama and any brother who try to defend the din of Muhammad (3alayhi salatu wa salam) and forgive our brothers who have a GOOD intention and the sole aim to please Allah (3azza wa jalla).

Our nature as sunnis forbids us to insult or hate anyone who says he is a muslim and a sunni and doesn’t insult the companions (even if he does mistakes). We all make mistakes! But if we notice some important mistakes we should try to correct them as they can cause misconceptions and be a danger to Islam. A 3alim who writes about important things such as the Prophet, attawassul, the principles of Attassawuf and many other things that were CLEARLY explained by plenty of ancient and respected scholars, must be challenged. Not insulted but actively challenged. There are things that were accepted by scholars of the past who dedicated not an hour or two but their whole lives to Islam.
Also, it must be pointed out that when we talk about (hujatu alIslam) Alghazali’s “tons of weak hadith” (sic) as simply as that, we should maybe not forget the intention of this great imam (they were not hadith dealing with 3aqeeda. One of his intentions was then to encourage people to remember Allah in a medieval age full of sects, etc. However, in order to know the intentions we have to dedicate ourselves to 3ilm or, at least, listen to respected scholars who want to please Allah. And this takes time and modesty. We shouldn’t forget that Al3ajalatu min ashaytan wa Allahou Almusta3an!)
To make a long story short, I just want to thank every one who tries to defend Islam, the Prophets who brought the message, the Companions who fought to spread it, the Scholars who protected it and the People of Allah who honoured it.
Our job here is not to insult each other or feel hatred, but, rather, we are here to worship Allah, remember it and try to know Him.
May Allah guide us all to truth and keep us on the straight path. May Allah unite the Umma and open for us a way of getting to know Him Ameen!
“When He opens for you a way of getting to know Him, do not mind if the quantity of
your actions lessen in its presence. He only opened this way for you so that He may
make Himself known to you. Do you not see that His making Himself known to you is
something that issues from Him to you, while actions come from you to Him? And
where is what you are sending to Him in relation to what He is sending to you?” (Hikam Ibn ‘Ataillah alIskandari)

    Asalamu alikum Rafael!

you didn’t refute Abu layth’s results, you expressed your frustration to him because you haven’t got the knowledge to refute him, Allahu akbar!

As for Albani and his followers were and are a minority! in the present time it seems neo salafi are the majority. This is a media deception because they are using oil money to promote neo salafi ideology through various commuications.

Therefore , having a neo salafi platform to present albani’s views doesn’t mean its correct. look at the israelis because they have many commuications doesn’t mean they are the majority and are in the haq?

  14. Abu Yusha' says:

    Assalaamu alaykum,

    …[I love Albani]…

When we look at all of these points and many more we must remember that there were more knowledgeable people than Al-Albaani in the past who made even more grotesque mistakes in matters of aqeedah, fiqh and even in tafaaseer. Ibn hazm, An-Nawawi, Ibn hajr, Abu hanifa, Malik, Ash-Shaafi’i all made mistakes major and minor.

    …[&c &c &c]…

Astagfirullaah. May Allaah allow us to see the truth for what it is and be just nation that speaks and acts purely for the sake of Allaah solely as opposed to bickering for their own people. Ameen.

    [Amin.]

    • Rafael says:

Wa alaykum as salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

Although it’s hard to imagine what errors could have been more egregious, it is certainly true. Although it must be said, Nawawi, Ibn Hajr, Malik, Abu Hanafi, & al-Shafi’i were all mutjahids, if not mujtahids mutlaq*. As such, they were rewarded for their efforts and conclusions, even if they were incorrect (although in matters of aqida it is quite clear that were on the truth). This is the difference between the pretender and the one given a special mission from Allah: one is rewarded and the other damned.

      * (similar to them would be Jafar al-Sadiq, al-Thawri, Ibn al-Mubarak, Zufar, al-Awzai, Abu Yusuf, Layth, Bukhari, Ahmad, Ismail al-Qadi, Abu Thawr, Tabari, Ibn Khuzayma, Tahawi, Ibn al-Hasan, Bayhaqi, & al-Juwayni per GF Haddad’s count as absolute independents among those who succeed the likes of Said ibn Musayyib, Ibn Sirin, and Hasan).

  15. Rafael says:

Wa alaykum as salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

You are correct on two accounts: I did not refute Abu Layth’s results in this matter, and I do not have the knowledge to refute him. But then why would I want to refute him when I agree with him?

  16. Abul Layth says:

    To Abu Yusha’:

What you deem “errors” of those qualified in Ijtihad [Mujtahidin], they did not deem so, and had the expertise [excluding maybe Ibn Hazm from your list] as well as the RIGHT within the Sunni tradition to exert their Ijtihad in the matters you disagree with them in. What is true is that Muhammad Al-Albani did not have the training, as well as the right within the Sunni tradition to speak on the matters he did – particularly fiqh and hadith (let alone Faith of the Muslim), and so your attempted analogy is easily shattered by simply pointing out that you are comparing apples to oranges!

For us to accept your claim that somehow Abu Hanifah is equal to Muhammad Al-Albani is disingenuous, and quite frankly brother, utterly absurd. The four Imams have Ijma’ of the Sunni Ummah – as stated by Ibn As-Salah and other than him – that they are to be followed by the Muslims. Al-Albani can only muster up – well – no one worthy of mention to justify his status.

In fact, I dare say that Al-Albani will soon be thrown into the dustbin of this generations history by those who follow the Sunnah and its people. His blunders have only polluted the salaf’s works, and now, the scholars of Islam must clean up his mess, wasting precious time refuting his baseless insinuations [like the issue of gold for women etc], when they could be working for greater causes!

    was-salam
    Abu Layth

    Mashallah!

I have enjoyed reading the article and the additional comments made by Abul Layth, Hamza and Rafael, May Allah (swt) reward you in your efforts and increase your status in Jannah. Ameen.

I was wondering whether you brothers have a facebook account and if so, could I possibly add you as I have really enjoyed the discussions that you have all posted.

    Jazkhallah Khair

Masha Allah! The Salafi Mullas have really created great misconception among the layman Muslim about Hayatul Ambiya and Aulia-Allah! Jazak Allah for dispelling the misconceptions,,

    Salamu ‘alaykum beloved Muslims,

Today I heard a lecture of the ignorant and blasphemous Abu Ameena Bilal Phillips, may Allah guide him, saying our Prophet Muhammad (‘alayhi afdal as-salat wa salam) is DEAD! This Sahih hadith, as admitted to by his master in crime Al Albaani, proves him wrong!

Beware of this fabricator and denier of the authentic ahadith, and the manhaj of the noble salaf us-Salih, a claim that he makes upon himself, yet clearly contradicts!
