Muhammad ibn Sirin

Name: محمد بن سيرين الانصاري

Muhammad ibn Seereen Al-Ansaari, the Mawlaa of Abu Bakr ibn Abi ‘Amrah Al-Basri, the Imam of his time. Ibn Hajr states,

“He reported from his Mawlaa Anas ibn Maalik, Zayd ibn Thaabit, Al-Hasan ibn ‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib, Jundub ibn Abdullah Al-Bajali, Ibn Umar, Ibn ‘Abbaas, ‘Uthmaan ibn Abil ‘Aas, ‘Imran ibn Husayn, Ka’ab ibn ‘Ajrah, Mu’aawiyah, Abid-Dardaa’, Abi Sa’id, Abi Qataadah, Abu Hurayrah, Abi Bakr Ath-Thaqafi, ‘Aa’ishah – The mother of the believers, Umm ‘Atiyyah…and a group from the Kibaar (major scholars) of the taabi’een.”

Imam Ahmad said, “He heard from Anas, ‘Imraan, Abu Hurayrah, and Ibn ‘Umar. He did not, however, hear from Ibn ‘Abbas.” Ibn Al-Madeeni mentioned him amongst the companions of Abu Hurayrah. Ibn ‘Awn said of him, “I have not seen anyone comparable in this world than three: Muhammad ibn Sireen in ‘Iraq, Al-Qaasim ibn Muhammad in the Hijaaz, and Rajaa’ ibn Haywah in Shaam. And amongst these none was comparable to Muhammad.” ‘Uthmaan At-Taymi said, “There was no one in Basrah that had more knowledge of the legal rulings than Muhammad ibn Sireen.” The master of masters in hadīth, Ibn Hibbān Ash-Shāfi’ī says of him, “Muhammad ibn Sirin was the most pious God-Aware men of the people of Basrah! He was a virtuous faqih (jurisconsult), a Hāfith (i.e. memorized over 100,000 narrations), one who Feared Allah ta’alā, an interpreter of dreams!”

    dreams are messages which can’t be ignored. they usually mean somthing that,s why we need scholars like ibn sirin to explain those dreams. so plz ignore that whopper who take dreams lightly! thank you
