Big Lies: Joys of Muslim Women

In recognition of the emerging fascist movement in America, we’ve decided to run a new series named to honour the “Big Lie” technique of Nazi propaganda perfected by Goebbels). Sh. Hamza Yusuf gave a worthy address to the US this Eid, saying that each of us has a part to play in educating people about who we are — Prof. Tariq Ramadan said much the same recently in discussing how important it is that we define ourselves rather than allow for others to define us. In this series we’ll combat the lies spread about our faith over the internet through circulating emails, inviting you to forward what we offer to respond and educate others.

*Please send us emails you find that are being circulated. We simply do not have the capacity to respond to websites, and are mostly concerned with correcting misrepresentations of Islamic jurisprudence spread via email.*

Good Article on Abul Hasan al-Asha'ri and al-Ibanah

There is a good research article by Sidi Faqir and Revan on the distortion of the texts of Al-Ibanah – a book the pseudo-salafis believe is his last work ever written, and one that shows that he was upon their creed of literalism.

The authors show the discrepancies in the manuscripts and in the publications of the works. They also quote the analysis of some of the scholars regarding the works.

Imam Ash-Shafi’i on Evil and Good Bida’ah: A Refutation of the Pseudo-Salafi Weakening of His Narration

Compiled by Abu Layth

Alhamdulillah for the ability given to us to research the claims of the pseudo-salafis for ourselves, and having the chains of serfdom to pseudo-salafi “Shaykhs” removed from our necks! For our brethren shackled in pseudo-salafi Saudi Arabia do not have the ability to freely search out the truth! May Allah free them from the oppression of the Wahhabi propaganda machine funded by oil dollars, Amin! All of us reading this article should thank Allah ta’ala for this ability!

Several years ago we compiled statements of Imam Ash-Shafi’i (rahmatullah ‘alayh), the forefather of this Ummah that standardized Usul Al-Fiqh with his Risalah, in which he held that there existed good bida’ah and evil bida’ah. We recently came upon some quotes from some pseudo-salafi “Shaykhs”, particularly Salim Al-Hilali and ‘Ali Al-Halabi – students of al-Albani who claimed these reports were weak. In this article we will refute the baseless accusation and expose such ignorance in this science.

Did Imam Malik say "Allah is in the heavens, and His Knowledge is in Every place?"

I recently read the following narration reported from Imam Malik ibn Anas (radiya Allahu Anhu) in “Risalat al-Wafiyah”:

Translation:

“It was narrated to us by Khalf ibn Ibrahim al-Maliki who said: It was narrated to us by Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Haywayh An-Naysaburi, who said from Ibrahim ibn Jumayl from Abdullah ibn Ahmad ibn Hanbal, that my father narrated to me [i.e. Imam Ahmad] from Surayj ibn An-Nu’man from Abdullah ibn Nafi’ who said that Malik said, “Allah is in the heavens, and His Knowledge is in every place.

A Review of Imam Malik's Reported Interpretation of the Hadith of Allah's Nuzul (Descent)

Compiled by Abu Layth

Imam Muslim narrates the following hadith in his Sahih:

“Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, ‘Our Lord – Blessed and Exalted is He! – descends every night to the lowest heaven in the last third of the night and says: Who is supplicating Me so that I may answer him? Who is asking forgiveness from Me so that I may forgive him?”
